Too swift for those who fear
Too long for those who grieve
Too short for those who rejoice

Spin, sew, and till the soil in any weather,
And wash in the cold mountain stream, if but

Happy Valentine's Day to you! What lovely poetry. Made my heart warm and grateful that I have someone to love and love me this Valentine. I think my favorite is "Grow old with me! The best is yet to be."
ReplyDeleteHi Cherie, that is my favorite, too! Hope your day is lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful post. Where do you find all your gorgeous verses? I love the Browning one as well - and the Van Dyke verse, which I hadn't heard before.
ReplyDeleteAs you know we've had sadness in our house with the passing of my mother-in-law. We gave each other Valentines, and I was able to truly say to my daughter that love never, ever, dies.
P.S. Thank you so much for your kind comment, Karen. It means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteDear Christine, You don't have to thank me, it is the very least I could do. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI find my quotes and poetry through books, articles, magazines, etc. I save them in a little notebook. The library is a wonderful source.
Yes, Browning is a favorite.
A lovely thing to say to your daughter. So sad for her loss.
Take care, loving thoughts to you and your family. xx
