Morning

It's a beautiful late summer morning.

Light streams in through colorful glass.

The deck staining is done.

Just in time for falling leaves.

A lovely rose to greet me with it's heavenly scent, coaxed into bloom by recent rain.

The morning light illuminates intricate weavings.

Colors seem to stand out in rich detail.

Leaves are starting to turn color.

Berries are ripening.

Rich golden color descends from a cloudless sky.

Everything is so peaceful and quiet.

I wish I could stay home and enjoy it.

But I have to go to the dentist.

My favorite place to spend the afternoon.

(a little lie)

I hope your day is beautiful.

xx

  1. Oh, I'm so sorry. I have to go to the dentist too - lost a filling. What beautiful photos and especially of the top one with the gorgeous window and blue bottles. Where did you find that window? And are the bottles from the ex-mining-town?

Hope your fun afternoon was even more fun than you thought!

  2. Dear Christine - Oh, you too? Thank you for your sweet comments. I found the windows (We have 4 of these) at a little window shop years ago that is no longer open. I think you can still get them from Milgard Windows. The bottles are actually from my Dear Mother. She had a lovely collection of cobalt blue bottles and she gave them to me.

I did have a nice afternoon after the dentist and did a little shopping:) Hope you found something fun to do, too! xx

but you have a lovely deck to come back to!
After the shopping...a reward for going to the dentist?
I think you probably deserved it.

  5. Dearest Karen,

LOVELY post and I almost can hear the quiet... No, I'm not talking about the dentist's office but your lovely place in nature.
    Hugs to you,

  6. Hi Karen,

I sure wish I had time to enjoy the mornings like you have. I'm too busy rushing off to work at 6:30 a.m. I get up at 3:00 a.m. each day to do my blog visiting :-) Just beautiful photos capturing the morning. Love the spider web!

  7. Beautiful pictures! I especially like the spiderweb. How can something so creepy make something so beautiful? Hope all went well at the dentist, just a cleaning, I hope:)

  9. When in the dentist chair, just close your eyes and think of that light coming through the window, the apples, the heather and all pleasures of autumn. Better than TV that some dentist have in their clinics.

I'm sorry that you had to leave such an idyllic setting, but the bright side is....tomorrow is another day. <3
