Hello, Dear Friends,
as we celebrate spring and the Easter Holiday,
I would like to share some sweet baskets
to make you smile,
Little baskets of Love <3
This porcelain basket holds
a fragrant bouquet of Sweet Box
from my garden.
Sweet Box is a lovely, evergreen shrub
that blooms in early spring with
an intense fragrance that fills the garden.
Here you can see it blooming just
beyond the deck from my living room window.
There are 4 of them blooming the length of the deck,
filling the air with scent whenever we step outside.
On the wall, a sweet paper basket of eggs.
A framed greeting card from my daughter, Heather.
My painted terra-cotta basket on the mantel,
full of (dried) roses from Ramblin' Man :)
Miss Flopsy with her basket of flowers.
A basket of strawberries
on the kitchen windowsill
won't last long!
Two baskets grace the entry table.
The hand-painted (real blown) eggs and ceramic box
are from my daughters.
The basket is vintage.
These eggs are children's sidewalk chalk!
I love their dusty colors.
This little card was given to my
Dear Mother, years ago, by me.
I found it in her things.....
She'll be gone 5 years this week.
This was her bookshelf.
It was plain wood, so I painted it
this beachy blue with two colors.
You can see how I did it Here .
These ceramic baskets are new this year.
I made some up for favors last weekend
when we celebrated Ramblin' Man's birthday
with the family.
The tulle wrapped favors were from my daughter, Heather
with fruity hand soap and candy inside.
A large basket holds last fall's hydrangeas
at the foot of the stairs.
Doorstop baskets.
Baskets with vintage embroidered linens
in my sewing room.
Charming little baskets from the past.
A tiny basket next to my music box flower cart.
I inherited my Mother's Limoges collection.
This little basket was one of them.
Inside, a sweet surprise.
They were sweet gifts to her from my Father.
I have several.
Here's two more springtime selections.
The egg holds a perfume bottle.
Sweet, treasured tokens of love.
I'll leave you with one last basket.
Wishes for a Happy Easter-Tide
Dear friends!

Hi Karen -The Sweet Box is so beautiful. I'm wondering if it will grow in our area. I'll have to look into that. You have so many sweet baskets. I especially love the door-stop baskets. Deb
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Karen. All of your baskets are sweet and some of them are real treasures. I think I need some more baskets for my sewing room!
ReplyDeleteMy dear Karen,
ReplyDeletewell, my favourite basket is the one with the strawberries, I love strawberries.
Your mom´s bookshelf is beautiful, I love it and the colour, this warm, powder blue, that is my colour too.
When did you get the idea to write a post about baskets? That´s extraordinary .
I love baskets too. I use them for shopping, for storing magazines, newspapers, wool, towels and a lot of accesoires. When they made of bamboo they are also very exotic.
The little treasure baskets are sweet and the egg reminds of the famous Fabergé eggs which you can find in the Eremitage in St.Petersburg, very special.
I wish you and your family a peaceful Easter.
My biggest wish is peace on earth for everyone, all the best for you, Barbara xx

ReplyDeleteBlessed Easter to you!! xoxo
We have that plant all on one side of the building I work in and the scent is wondrous! It bloomed and was gone in 3 weeks but we loved it,
ReplyDeleteKaren what a darling post. I adore baskets too, and that little embroidered lady reminds me of one I embroidered when I was just four years old at my Nannas knee. A sweet memory. Happy Easter! Mimi xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet collection of treasured baskets! Each one is so special. How lovely to have your mother's things nearby to think of her every day. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of sweet baskets of all kinds! Your lovely home is ready for Easter.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter blessings to you and your family!
You do have so many lovely and cute baskets. They are beautiful to display around the house. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteDearest Karen,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your special Limoges box collection from your dear Mom! Unbelievable that this week she's already 5 years in heaven. It will be my Mom's 2nd Easter in heaven as well.
It sustains us throughout the seasons when we keep sweet mementos from our loved ones, such as the card that you once wrote for your Mom... And the framed one from Heather is precious and means so far more than just the Easter Greeting!
Enjoy your fragrant flowers, that's the bonus of spring. We have a very dark and wet Easter weekend. Cannot change that but never mind.
Sending you hugs and blessings for a Happy Easter for you and your loved ones🐣
Mariette
You have such a nice collection of baskets. I love the pieces that your Dad gave to your Mom, such beautiful treasures.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love all those little porcelain boxes. I collect those, ya know? And the vintage card you gave your mother is so special. I enjoyed looking at all the delightful baskets around your home. Wishing you a very Happy Easter.

Karen, your pictures are filled with Easter joy! I love all the vintage touches especially the card from your dear mother. May your week be filled with precious memories of times with her and be comforted.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures from your home Karen. My favorites were from your sewing room, with those embroidered linens. I don't think I've seen your sewing room before. Looks like a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteHave a very Happy Easter. xo Deborah
You have the sweetest style of decorating Karen. So many pretty little touches here and there, but all set up with love and remembrances of family and friends. My own mother used to do the same, and I marveled at the sentimental things she kept when I had to clear out her house. I love all your baskets filled with love ;)

ps my mother will have been gone five years next week too ... Apr 8 xox
Dear Karen, you certainly have no shortage of baskets in your house :-)! They really have their own charm and help to make a house a home. I am very surprised how well the dried hydrangeas lasted for you. That is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a very Happy Easter! May all your lovely baskets be filled with many Easter eggs today!
Warm regards,
Christina
Dear Karen - I love all your baskets- every one is so charming and special!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you lost your mother, it hurts for sure. My own sweet mom has been gone over 20 years - and I still grieve much. We don't get over losing our mothers. So you are in my thoughts as thoughts of her is surely up front for you right now.
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend. God bless!
ps I am your newest follower! : - )
