Hey Champ, Wanna play ball?
O.k. Whitey, I'll go find the ball. Here it is!
Throw the ball, Mom, throw the ball!
Stare deep into my eyes! You will now throw the ball.
Mid air catch! Good boy!
Come on, Whitey, help me catch the ball!
Naw, Champ, Mom's giving me treats.
And I have this itch on my head.
And I just feel so lazy today.
What about you, Weenie Baby? Will you play ball with me?
Oh, O.k. I guess I'll play for a little while.
What's that Peanut? You found a squirrel?
Where is it, where is it?
Hey Weenie, I thought you were going to play ball with me?
Naw, I'd rather chase squirrels.
See if Whitey will play.
Whitey won't play. I'm just going to forget about it.
What? You will play ball with me, Whitey?
Sure I'll play, Champ!
Hey, Whitey, you're supposed to share the ball!
Mom! Whitey won't share!
O.k. Champ, I'll throw the ball. Good catch!
Time for treats!
Time for a nap!
Geez! You guy's are no fun!
Oh my goodness, they are so cute! I'd love to play ball with them anytime! :)

Absolutely adorable!!! Warms the heart does it not?
ReplyDeleteDear Champ, I know how you feel. Right now I have a flock of 20 or so mourning doves on the lawn, and they won't play ball, either!
ReplyDeleteNow that's hilarious! Thanks for making me smile in an otherwise dreary day! <3
ReplyDeleteSilly dogs - they are all so cute. Love the conversation. That mid air catch was super - and super that you also caught it on camera. Great photos. Looks like everyone was having a great day outdoors.
ReplyDeletehow fun and what personalities they have. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDearest Karen,
ReplyDeleteHaha, what a nice canine conversation! Love this kind of photos and mind-reading. It actually is LIKE that, they think and communicate perfectly.
Cute team and all four seem to get along very well!
What is that huge tree you did show its trunk of? Looks almost like a redwood or am I wrong?
Enjoy your week and stay warm and healthy.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Dear Mariette,
DeleteThank you for visiting me and the canine menagerie! The tree you are asking about is a Western Red Cedar. This one is about 80 years old or older. We know this because the last time the property was logged was in the 1930's and they didn't take the cedar as it was considered not valuable then. Lucky for us! Hope your week is quiet and peaceful. Hugs xoxo
Just like little kids. Fun post!!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeletequite the menagerie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute series! I love the "stare deeply into my eyes"
ReplyDeleteoh what a cute post!! you could make this into a children's book!
ReplyDeleteOh how super sweet:-) They are all adorable! I have a pack of my own (6) and I could spend the whole day watching their antics:-) Though only one plays ball here, and me if you count the thrower :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs em' all for me:-)

Great shots of your "fur children"! Wow, you have 4 dogs? So that makes you one ahead of me! They are lovely and don't you love how they each have their own distinct personalities?
ReplyDeleteoh and by the way, I love the poem on your side bar about the ground birds nest. Have never seen that poem before, but it is just how I feel about my cabin in the woods. Nice post, and thank you for stopping by my blog and joining in
Such a cute post and I'm jealous of all your sweet company! I love the Border Collie's stare down when they give you "the eye"! Blessings, Dianne
