Thoughts From a Patchwork Heart

Hello, Sweet Friends and Dear Family,
I hope your week is full of lovely blessings!

Mine is always full of joy because of you,
and your kind visits.

Have I told you how much I appreciate
all of your dear comments?

Well, I do!
I love this little world of blogging,
where we get to make the most wonderful friends
and keep in touch with loved ones near and far.

xoxo

Today is Five on Friday and I would love to share
Five lovely quotes as I show you my little patchwork
hearts.

These little hearts are made with old, worn and tattered
quilts, that have seen too much love and heartache.
Rescued and patched together,
they now have new life, with their memories
and love still to share.

Much like all of us <3

Little heartstrings of love.

'Courtesies of a small and trivial
character are the ones which strike
deepest in the grateful and appreciating heart'

- Henry Clay, Statesman -

'Remember that everyone you meet is afraid
of something, loves something and has lost something'

H. Jackson Brown Jr., writer

'I keep my ideals, because in spite of everything
I still believe that people are really good at heart'

Anne Frank

'The measure of love is compassion;
The measure of compassion is kindness'

- St. Paul, Apostle -

'Love that goes upward is worship.
Love that goes outward is affection.
Love that stoops is grace.'

- Donald Grey Barnhouse, Pastor -

  22. What beautiful quilt hearts, Karen! And such a wonderful way to rescue old quilts. I too get much joy from the blogging community. I enjoyed the quotations but especially the one from Barnhouse. That is beautiful and so true. When we think of the Creator and Sustainer of the universe stooping to share his world with us and to love us enough to give us his Son, it is an awesome thing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  23. I just love these little patchwork hearts! I have a very old and worn quilt that my grandmother made. It's last days of usefulness were spent drying our horse after cold wet rains. But I remember it fondly when I was little as it rested over my bed, and admiring all the little squares of fabrics. I found it in my parents' basement and asked Mom if I could have it. She was surprised I wanted it, but gladly gave it up. Only a few of the blocks are complete, the rest are worn through to the batting. Now you have given me some ideas of what to do with it ;)
You have chosen some lovely quotes today. The one by Anne Frank I felt the strongest.
Thank you for your comment on mine about no-reply bloggers. My only concern was that I was sending out all these replies, but never knew if anyone was receiving them. You'd think the email would bounce it back to me if it was undelivered. Now that I know you don't receive them, I can stop writing out these replies and will just visit all of you instead. No, don't feel badly, I'm so glad you took the time to explain :) Have a wonderful weekend Karen! Thanks again for sharing this heart idea.
