A Sweet Celebration

Hello, Dear Friends, the last time
we met we were touring Sister Donna's Garden.

Ramblin' Man and I flew to New England
from our home in Washington State
to celebrate our niece, Amanda's recent
wedding to her sweetheart, Jon.

The celebration took place in Donna's Garden.

Here you see the happy couple
with Amanda's Mom, Theresa,
at their wedding in West Virginia.

Ramblin' Man, Donna and Theresa are siblings.

Along with one brother, David.
Here they are helping out :)

Amanda is the only child of sister, Theresa,
(we call her Terry), and very
special because Terry was told
she couldn't have children.

Now we were all gathered to
celebrate this very special occasion
with a grateful heart.

It was a beautiful afternoon for a celebration.

With the gardens and lake as backdrops,
everyone had a wonderful time.

Amanda and Jon met
9 years ago as teens
when he would visit
 his grandparent's in the summer.
As summer romances go,
it faded away,
only to be rekindled years later.

Don't you just love a happy ending?
This is their engagement photo <3

Now they make their home in West Virginia
where Jon's family has embraced sweet Amanda
as one of their own.

It was wonderful to see the happy couple having a
lovely time surrounded by family
and friends.

There were 4 generations present!

Posing in the photo frame with her maid of honor.

Looking adorable in her cowgirl
boots and sundress,
with bridesmaid's looking on.

They were inseparable.
So sweet.

The young couple drove
all the way from West Virginia
to share this special day.

Posing with cousins, Jesse and Lucia.

There was plenty of delicious food,
all prepared by family and friends.

Donna's husband, Ron, was the grill-master.

These cute cupcakes were made by
Donna and Ron's daughter, Janessa.

More vintage goodness!

I love the idea of using glass blocks to
elevate the drink dispensers!

A beautiful butterfly fluttered around the new bride
and then landed on these flowers.

Nana and the grandchildren :)

Cousins, Ashley (with husband, Rob) and Dustin, (my son) with wife Jennifer. xo

As the sun sinks low over the peaceful lake,
we wish the new couple the very best
that life has to offer.

Amanda and Jon on their wedding day

It was a very special day,
filled with wonderful memories.

xoxo

We toast their new life together with an Irish Blessing:

***
May God be with you and always bless you,

May you live to see your children's children,

May you be poor in misfortune and rich in blessings and

May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

xoxo

Next time:
A walk to the lake.

  1. What a wonderful family celebration for your niece and her new husband ! So many good family pics, and some pretty good ideas for anyone contemplating such an event, even a perfect get-together for the wedding itself.

I was thinking the same thing, glass blocks to lift the water & lemonade dispensers is an idea I will take away from this post to use now.

  10. What a sweet love story. And that is how weddings should be done. They have taken on a life of their own around here costing an arm and a leg. Crazy. This is much nicer.

  13. Karen, what a nice wedding. Lots of food, decorations, and loved ones to share the day. Weddings always get to me, and it's sweet to see young couples start their new life together. Now, was that a real butterfly? What a wonderful sign for a bright future.
