It was a winter wonderland.
Snowflakes falling on my nose and eyelashes.
Sugar coating my world.
So peaceful.
Did I say peaceful?
I meant a frolicking, jumping, running, tumbling world.
If they could make snowballs, I would be in trouble.
Ling Ling watches cautiously from the sidelines.
The sun came peeking out from the bank of snow clouds
Captured in the crystals hanging from the tree
And illuminating the angels
Until slowly setting in the winter sky,
making the hills blush with beauty.

How gorgeous! You have such an amazing view off your deck. I love the pawprints in the snow :) Looks like the dogs had fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tammy, Merry Christmas! xx
DeleteOh my goodness this looks heavenly!! I'm so jealous! What a picturesque scene :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, OE, and so glad you stopped by for a visit! xx
DeleteSo lovely!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Lisa! xx
DeleteVery beautiful photos! We might get our first snow in a few days. I really can't wait. (I finished my shopping today, so I won't have to drive in it.)
ReplyDeleteDear Cindy, Thank you and I do hope you get to have a White Christmas! I do agree, it is nice to look at but not to drive in! Merry Christmas to you! xx
DeleteDearest Karen,
ReplyDeleteYour first snow created truly a winter-wonder-land! The way you capture sun rays around your angel is telling about your heart!
Enjoy this beauty and wishing you a Merry Christmas dear friend.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette, Thank you for your sweet thoughts and I do wish the very same for you! Hugs to you xx
DeleteThose sixth and seventh shots are LOVELY!
ReplyDeleteI liked your choice of blue lights when I first saw them but they are definitely perfect with the snow!
Have a wonderful Christmas Karen!
Thank you, Carletta. Years ago when my sweetheart and I were dating, we always went on drives to view the Christmas lights. There was one house that we loved - it was painted dark brown and had blue lights. Every year we admired and wished and here we are! Brown house and blue lights! Thanks for stopping by on this busy week! xx
DeleteHow very beautiful! My favourite photo is the one from inside the window, with your Christmas tree on the left. It must be amazing to be surrounded by such beauty on a daily basis. Surely it's good for one's soul!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your comment about the dogs making snowballs. You would be in trouble then!
Dear Christine, Yes, beautiful but dangerously wild. You know, lions and tigers and bears, oh my! he he. I am grateful for my elevated deck and two courageous watchdogs. That can't make snowballs. Thank goodness! Hope you are staying warm, too. I believe you have similar winter temps in Scotland? xx
DeleteOh it is so beautiful!! All we have are cooler temps in the morning and back to hot and humid by mid afternoon ;(
ReplyDeleteDear Danielle, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat! Hot and humid beats cold and wet any day! xx
DeleteYour winter photos are wonderful - I'd love to play in the snow - for about 5 minutes!
ReplyDeleteDear Diva, yes 5 minutes is about enough for me, too. It's nice to look at, but cooooold! Thanks for visiting. xx
DeleteOh, how beautiful your world is, Karen! (Even if your furry friends frolic and leave prints!) It doesn't snow down here too often....but one can always hope.
ReplyDeleteYour post reminds me of a Northern Exposure episode where they all went outside and celebrated the first snow with hugs and cheers of "bon hiver" (French for "have a good winter"). It's one of my favorite episodes.
Have a merry Christmas, Karen! <3
Dear Stacy Lyn, I love Northern Exposure, too! That is a good episode, although I never knew what they were saying! Now I know! Thank you for the Christmas wishes. I do hope the same for you and your family. xx
DeleteThank you, Loredana. You may be getting snow soon, too, I think! Merry Christmas to you! xx
