Christmas Shopping

Yesterday, I met up with my youngest daughter, Jennie to do a little small town Christmas Shopping in Sumner, WA.

We met in the parking lot of our favorite shop.

It was a cold day and we were bundled up to do some serious walking.

This small town has many little shops and restaurants for a fun day of shopping .

First stop was the 'Garden Market'.

Everything in this darling shop is swoon worthy.

There is a large courtyard and greenhouse out back with statuary and urns and pots and the loveliest of arrangements, with all the plants to make your own.

 The urns are especially wonderful.

Inside the shop are trees and decorations and table arrangements and lovely little things you can't live without.

Next door is an Italian Bistro where we had a wonderful lunch of pasta. I ordered Butternut Squash Ravioli's. Oh my - so delicious!

We sat by the window and caught up on our busy lives.

Every moment I get to spend with my children is precious!

Next we browsed the many antique and gift shops, looking for treasures.

We had so much fun laughing at the curiosities.

Notice the frightened look!

I don't think this little Santa will be coming home with us.

We did have a great time!

I spotted these vintage hanging lamps and wanted to take them all home. But we were there to shop for Christmas....sigh!

We had a wonderful day together, and it ended too soon.

But on the way to our vehicles, we had one last laugh!  What the ?????

Hey, it's all in the Christmas Spirit!

I hope you are having a little fun in the Spirit of Christmas!

xx

  1. What fun times spent with adult children indeed. My daughter and I have a good time together going antiquing as well. Even tho she still lives with us, for now, we have a good time. I liked the old lamp shades you photographed. I'd easily take the blue one and off white one. Yesterday I took care of my adorable grandchildren so there mom and dad could go out a bit to celebrate an anniversary. Loving on the littles was fun and got some photos of them by their tree. I am going to get 2 more net lights for our rhody bush so it's gonna be full of lights and more pretty. I didn't imagine or think of how much we really needed when we started this project. But that's the light of the season outdoors, at our house this year, no ladder work for husband this year. Take care and have a great week!

  2. Your daughter is very lovely!
The store looks like a treasure trove of things to ooh and awe over.
I too love those shades. They remind me of growing up although I don't think we had any pastel ones.
I guess those folks ran out of yard space for the Santa house. :)

  4. Dearest Karen,
Even if I would not buy anything but spending a day with such a lovely daughter would be worth it! LOVE Jennie's boots!
If bundled up well, it doesn't really matter much and there is always that warm cup of tea/coffee/chocolate awaiting us once we reach home.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  6. Looks like you had a wonderful day together. Alas, I have three boys, so no shopping with my children:) That last picture is a hoot. You have to wonder what some people are thinking!

  8. Wonderful pics Karen, looks like you two Beauties had a great time! Growing up I've always been close to my Mother too, from the late night I've had too much wine and just called to say Hello Mom to her soothing voice over the phone when life seems to get a little too stressful. Nothing compares to the advice from a Mother, even if its a silent hug to send you on your way. I look forward to sharing these moments with my Ella.

  9. Thank you, all my Dear Blogger Friends for stopping by and telling me your sweet experiences and laughing along with my funny photos. It is so wonderful to spend time with loved ones this time of year and thank you for the compliments on my daughter, of course I am biased, she is lovely on the inside and that is what makes her so special. I love when you share with me; your thoughts and little day to day happiness! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Hugs to you all. xxoo
