We had our first snow during the night
Transforming the landscape to black and white
And sugar coating my little world
With sparkling magic as the morning unfurled
The fire glows brightly to ward off the sleet
While loyal friend sleeps at my feet
With flowers to cheer me and remind me of Spring
I keep my hands busy crocheting with string
(My hilarious attempts at poetry)
Here is some real poetry
'Dust of Snow'
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a Hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
of a day I had rued
by Robert Frost 1923
I miss looking out my bedroom window. That was the first thing I did every morning when I got up as a boy. When it snowed I would get slide down the stairs on my heals and be out the door!
ReplyDeleteSnow days are one of the best memories of childhood! xx
ReplyDeleteGosh, is that a bit early in the season for you? The snow is very beautiful and I do like your poetry, as well as Robert Frost's. Your cat looks VERY happy. I think cats like snow days too.
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed by your crochet! I hope you'll show us when it's all finished?
And thanks as always for your kind words. x
