Easter Decorating on a Lovely Morning

Hello, Dear Friends, I hope that you are
enjoying this beautiful month of April,
wherever you may be.

We are having typical spring weather,
here in the foothills of the Cascade mountains
of western Washington state.
One minute the sun is shining beautifully,
and the next there is a sudden, cold wind,
dark clouds and rain.

So, while the weather sorts itself out,
I decided to bake some delicious
banana muffins and do some Easter decorating.

You can find the recipe on Deb's fun blog,
Here

A gal needs sustenance for a decorating session.....
and an inspirational bit of reading.

Do you read while you nibble?

If I am sitting, I am reading.....

I picked some pansies from my pot garden on the deck,
and set a pretty place for myself with my 'new'
depression glass pretties.

These are so good with or without butter :)

A sweet illustration from the book
by Tasha Tudor.

Oh my, that was good!

I'll clean up and then I will show you some of
my Easter decorations.

I've hung my hand-blown, painted glass eggs
from my chandelier this year.

Each one is a little bit different, painted with bunnies,
lambs, ducks and chicks.

My table has a simple centerpiece of
faux checkered lilies
on an embroidered linen table-runner.

The bunny is a painted rock :)

I am not hosting Easter dinner this year
so I have kept it simple.
We will be having dinner at my son, Gabe and wife Erica's
 home with the whole family.

I've put my dishes and pansies back on my
cupboard shelves.

I've had the ceramic egg for years and it
perfectly mimics the flowers in the jar.

This sweet little dish was a gift from my daughter
Heather. The nest has a little bird and
speckled glass eggs.

I won this tiny cross-stitch on a blog
give-away a few years ago.

The blog is no longer........

My little basket holds more glass eggs.

Weenie Baby enjoys a little sunshine on the daybed :)

She has sweet company.

I had two sheep - this one and a white one....

I wonder where the white one went?

Oh no! :0 ........

Who could do such a thing?!?

Me: "Was it you, Kai?"

Kai: "Who, me? What? Who did what? Where?"

Me: "Sigh........It's a good thing you are cute."

Kai:  "I'm always getting the blame!"

Me: "If the shoe fits...."

My little farm table.

My daughter, Jennie painted the ceramic egg box .

A tiny spring fairy with her pet bunny has
moved into my primrose Easter basket.

Hand-painted blown eggs .....

Part of my collection of Beatrix Potter books.

I recently found the Wedgwood plate.

It has a rather disturbing little quote on it :)

I've found that most children's books of a vintage
nature sometimes have scary 'lessons' inside.

My Mom and Dad made the wooden bunny hanger.
They used to sell crafts at a local shop :)

More hand-blown and painted eggs.

xoxo

I hope you enjoyed my Easter decorating,
dear friends!
Come back next time and I will show you the rest.

    1. Hi Lorrie, thank-you for your sweet visits <3 To answer your question - no, the napkin is vintage, but it would be fun to have a whole set! xo Karen

  7. Your home is so prettily decorated! You have great taste and have made some lovely collections to display. I adore the Beatrix Potter books and all of her work, but gosh yes, some of the stories can be rather scary can't they!

  8. Oh Peter Rabbit, I do love it and all Beatrix Potter's animals.
My daughter's name is Beatrice; everytime she travels to UK or US everybody calls her Beatrix as they say Beatrice is too difficult to say.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Love

  11. Karen, Your photos are always so gorgeous. Uh oh, Kai was bad, but even when they are bad they look so cute and innocent, lol. Such yummy looking muffins. My favorite is the glass Easter eggs hanging from your chandelier, genius and gorgeous! Happy Easter to you and yours.

  12. Wonderful spring decorating, Karen! I love the greens & yellows! Uh-oh, a chewed up sheep...did the dog ever fess us to being the culprit? :-) I'd love to do some decorating, but I just want to get my house organized! :-) We have been hitting some Moving/Estate sales and checking on craigslist for various pieces that are helping us with our storage. I am really happy with what we have found. It will take probably well over a year, what with the painting and other major things that have to be done (I want to put some shelves between the kitchen & dining rooms) and of course the various outbuildings we want to put in will take even longer. But, it's a work in progress, and exciting and fun! Your house is always an inspiration!

  13. I thought it was the weenie dog who chewed up your lamb. We have a dachshund too and she loves to tug on things and tear everything up. Your home is always so welcoming. You have an amazing view of the mountains. I don't think I could ever tire of it. So wonderful.

  14. I love all the pretty green everywhere! So fresh and Spring-like. ;) I love all of your sweet decorations too (even if one succumbed to being a chew toy - Lol) That Kai is darn cute though.

I love all of your sweet bunnies! So adorable that you even have some on your couch. And I love that bunny hanger your folks made!!! So very sweet. And you know I love when the fairies come land and share in all of the fun. ;)

Your views, as always, are so magnificent. Perfect backdrop for your beautiful and cozy home.

Blessings for a wonderful Easter weekend ahead! xoxo

  16. Somehow when I spent hours with you earlier today this post and the next did not roll up into view, so now I have the treat of viewing them before I climb into bed. Isn't it lovely to have things around you that are gifts from loved ones? I treasure the artistry of my loved ones in either making or purchasing things that they know will please me. I have some books about Tasha Tudor and would like to have some of her children's books, and those of Beatrix Potter as well. Thanks for another lovely post, Karen...ahh those flowers and views! xx

  17. Seeing all your lovely Easter decor has lifted my spirits somewhat. I've been in a funk since two of the grandkids spent a week here with us. So sad to see them go when they live so far away. You're right about the old nursery rhymes. I about died when I learned Ring Around The Rosies was about the plague.

  19. The fog picture is just amazing! Such lovely decorations, I think my favorite is the glass eggs hanging, such a wonderful way to showcase them. Oh my the poor white sheep is hardly recognizable, it is amazing the things our furbabies can get into :)

  20. I love all your beautiful Easter decor. What a shame about the white sheep, I had a laugh with the way you told the story though. The glass Easter Eggs hanging from the chandelier are beautiful. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.
