Weekend at Seabrook - Part 3

Hello friends, let's continue our
tour of the beach house in Seabrook, WA
that my family rented at the end of October.

Seabrook is located a few miles
past Aberdeen along the Washington coast,
just a 3 hour drive from my foothills home.

The house we rented is the dark shingled
beauty with the blue trim.
It has 3 floors and a carriage house.

With 5 couples splitting the cost,
(My four children and us)
it was very affordable.
There are all sizes of cottages for rent,
from small bungalows to very large estates
that will sleep up to 20.

I previously rented a small bungalow
with my daughters in Sept., 2013.
You can take a peek Here

Let's continue on, shall we?

Stepping inside the gate, we see a cozy grouping
of Adirondack chairs around a fire-pit.

My son brought along firewood, but it rained
during the evenings and we didn't get a chance
to enjoy it.

He left the firewood for the next renters :)

We walk around to the back deck....
Sweet little gardens where ferns
and redwood sorrel line the fence.

White oyster shells (on right) were used as mulch
throughout the community.

More comfy chairs as we climb up to the back deck.

There was also a hot tub on the other side.

Let's go inside and continue the tour.

We ended last time at the Master bedroom on
the 2nd floor.

The second bedroom was decorated in
a sweet cottage style that I really loved.

Comfy pillows and a little shadow-box
of tiny sea stars.

The white 'pillows' are actually extra
towels for the bath. A nice idea for a guest room.

Soft and pretty details.

The third bedroom had an autumn feel.

Another pretty mirror.

Let's go up to the third floor, shall we?

This large room was set up with children in mind.

A large, cozy seating area.

Colorful bunks with nautical accents.

Weathered wood game table.

Daughter Jennie had fun in the fully stocked 'kitchen' :)

Child sized table.

Let's go back outside to explore the
carriage house.

This room is above the garage
and is easily reached by crossing the back deck.

A patriotic theme.

There was a beverage station on the opposite wall
with coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator.

This room was set up for a family
with bunks and a cozy reading nook.

xoxo

We all agreed that we should make this an
annual event!

In my final post on our visit to Seabrook,
we will take a lovely walk to the Sea.

I hope you will join me!

xoxo

  13. Hi Karen, happy belated birthday. It looks like you had a wonderful time with your dear family. I so enjoyed seeing the pictures of Seabrook; I can pictures the sound of the rain gently falling and the wonderful scent of the trees. It's really heaven on earth! I hope you are having a wonderful fall season. We're suppose to get some rain in our dry, drought stricken California. I can hardly wait since I LOVE rain! My best to you. Hugs, Pat xx

    1. Hi Rose - thanks for stopping by :) You know, we were wondering the same thing.....My daughter's recognized most of the furnishings and decorations from the Pottery Barn catalog, so possibly the company has a service, or they could have just done it themselves with a few clicks! Sometimes I would just love to do the same thing.....When I win the lottery! xo Karen

  19. Dearest Karen,
The idea for making this into an annual event sounds wonderful and as grandchild(ren) grow up, this still is a great place with room for all.
It is such a lovely setting, too bad you had rain and could not use the fire wood... Kind gesture for leaving it for the next people.
May the fond and warm memories spent as a family stay with you for a long time!
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette
