Wedding Weekend at Suncadia

Last Friday morning we traveled over the pass to Suncadia Resort
to celebrate my son Dustin's marriage to his sweetheart, Jen.

Mist clung to mountain tops as we drove through the Cascade mountains
on our way to the eastern slopes with our van fully loaded with
flowers and food for the rehearsal dinner later that day.

This is a very special place to the new bride and groom - a place with lovely memories.

A wedding gift from my son's best friend and groomsman

Early morning sunshine broke through the clouds as we arrived at the 'Frost' house, one of two houses rented for the weekend - one for the groom's family and one for the bride's.

This was where the rehearsal dinner would take place later that day.

With many hands to help,

we went to work.

Come along with me and we will step inside.....

A warm welcome will greet our special couple and guests.

Sweetness and love.

A quick look at the beautiful fireplace....

The kitchen before we set up....

The den...

The dining area.

But it is through the glass doors that we set the scene....

It promised to be a beautiful day for an outdoor celebration.

Lovely alpine scenery served as the backdrop.

Precious mementos...

Rustic romance...

Burlap, lace and roses.

A cozy nook.

A beautiful view.

A woodland theme.

Ready for acoustics.

The smoker preparing the brisket....

A shaker box made by the best man (the groom's older brother - my eldest son, Gabe ) in high school.

With everything in place and the food all prepared,

we leave for the rehearsal.

Next time:
We meet the wedding party at the rehearsal and celebrate with dinner.
I hope you will join us!

xoxo

  5. Hi Karen, thank you for the top on the possibility of it being a hawk I heard. That would make so much sense, as far as warning of a predator. I'm off to listen to hawk sounds. Have a glorious week! (I would have emailed you personally but couldn't find your email address. Thanks again!)
