  4. Gotta love our mountains. Mt. Baker hasn't been out for a few days now - but we sure enjoyed those past sunny weeks when the mountain would be out almost every day. Great shot. I've heard those clouds called Lenticular Clouds (lens shaped) and have even seen pictures of many of them piled up over a mountain. I like to think of them as little shawls on the mountains - whatever we call them - they are very special. Thanks for sharing.

The whole thing is fascinating about Seattle - but at about 2 minutes into the video it shows Venticular clouds forming nearby and on Mt. Ranier - absolutely stunning.

  11. This beautiful photo brought back ancient memories this morning of the first time I saw Mt. Ranier in 1965! I wrote about it here in the blog I wrote for my children: http://mysouthernheart.blogspot.com/2008/12/summer-in-seattleconclusion.html

  13. Awesome photo of Mt. Rainier and it's lenticular cloud above it. I enjoy seeing Mt Hood here from time to time, when there aren't clouds in the way. Hugs!

  17. That's a lovely shot you share with us. I've never seen your mountain in person, but I have one close by here in New Zealand that has wonderful clouds that dance around it, too.
