Simple Valentine's Day Decorating

I do like to decorate for every holiday,
and adding handcrafted or gathered items that you might already have on hand
is a simple and inexpensive way to add some sweet touches.

To coordinate with my color scheme, I created a heart shaped wreath in subtle colors.

I simply painted a grapevine wreath with off white craft paint.

I tucked in sprigs of faux winter berries, then added bits of moss with hot glue.

Sheer, moss green ribbon creates a loop for hanging.

I also created painted heart boxes.

These were easy to make out of cardboard heart shaped boxes from the craft store.

I used the same off white paint to paint them inside and out.

I added a bit of lace trim, with craft glue, around the top edge.

Paper roses were hot glued on top.

These make sweet gift boxes with a cozy nest of tulle or fiberfill.

Cookie cutters make a holiday appearance displayed in a tart pan.

A vintage hankie dresses up the Kitchen Queen shelves.

A precious nose-gay embroidered with tiny hearts.

Perhaps a special token for a Sweetheart or Dear Mother, long ago.

Now a pretty touch for Valentine's Day.

I hope these ideas inspire you to do some easy Valentine's Day decorating of your own.

By using colors to match your decor and vintage items you might already have on hand, these simple touches can be enjoyed long after the holiday is over.

Vintage Cottage Style.
My frugal grandmother, Beatrice Euphemie would surely approve.

Thank you, Dear Friends for your sweet visits.
