Hello, my Dear Friends!
It's been a long year, hasn't it?
Wait, what? It's only February?
Sigh...
I've been thinking of you. I've missed you.
This old-soul empath has been having a hard time
dealing with this heartless world, lately.
To cope, I've been doing a lot of self-care with philosophical, spiritual and inspirational reading,
spending time enjoying nature outside my windows, cooking nourishing meals,
taking care of my home, spending time with my loved ones,
and seeking community with other old souls who
value kindness, compassion, and hope for a better
world despite the overwhelming obstacles.

Take care of yourself, Dear Friends,
and take care of each other.
Remember - a little kindness goes a long way.
Someone, somewhere in this world
remembers the act of kindness
that you once showed to them,
even if you've already forgotten.

Always nice to see a post from you ...
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the photographs and catch-up.
Sending my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Dear Karen, thank you so much for this beautiful and inspiring post! The cheerful touches of pink and red in your home brighten any day. Some cheer is definitely needed in these days. Worrying things happen in the world and here even the weather is grey. (Our winter is, so far, milder and cloudier than it should be.)
ReplyDeleteThere is so much inspiration in this post. A button heart might be the first thing I'll try to make. I have so many buttons stored that I will never be able to use all of them for clothing. :) Some decorations for home are always needed.
Take care, dear friend!
Your house is full of love. Thank you for your heartwarming words.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you are back again! Your house looks so cosy with its red scheme, somewhere great to hide away with all the cold and snowy weather outside and the doom and gloom around the world, but we're not thinking about that here. We went to Europe over New year and loved the snow sparkling in the blue skies and having a pretty place to stay with tasty meals. We are happy to see the snow but want to be in the Spring sunshine with the flowers now! Take care x
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love how you decorated your home for with hearts and cherubs all over. Your home looks so warm and cozy. The mountain is so beautiful and I hope you have a nice week and a happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteKaren, you have soooo many wonderful Valentine treasures, and I loved so many of them. We'll start with those paper roses! Can't believe they've held on for years. All your vintage signs are cute, and I appreciate the 'loan of gold and kind' quote. You got some snow! - we received some too! And ours was a pretty big one. I also saw bird tracks in the snow that I posted today. Kai is such a lovely dog in that snow picture. Your kitchen cupboards are so charming dressed in red and white, and the crocheted heart is neat. I had that Helen Keller quote on my fridge for years, I know it well. The carnations on your table are pretty, and that is my preferred Valentine flower as well. The red pots in the window sill really stand out. Your vanity is even more lovely with special Valentine things on there. The grandma heart pendent is a treasure. And I noticed the Whitman's in the sewing room, my favorite. You know, I had to stop and look at your basket of hearts, they are soooo pretty. The misty foggy day picture is beautiful. And is there anything like homemade bread and butter with strawberry jam for breakfast? All the quotes were so special, but the one that really got to me was Diana's quote. I'm glad you shared that. She was so compassionate, and I really miss her sometimes.
ReplyDeleteWell, I must come back to your post during the week. There was just so many things that I want to look at again. Your creativity with sewing and making things I admire so much. It all looks wonderful for this special holiday of love. Happy Valentine's Day to you, dear Karen.

Hello my beautiful Friend! It's always so nice to catch up with you whenever you do get a chance to pop in. I hear you about this world and how it can make you feel. I'm so happy you're doing whatever you need to in order to take care of yourself. I do my devotional time each morning, pray and journal and that gives me strength in each day. Because it reminds me we're never alone here. :) 🙏🏻💗
ReplyDeleteI L❤️VE the warm touches of red and pink in your kitchen. I'm always drawn to those colors. They bring such warmth and interest. And I love the way you've sprinkled "love" all through your home. Your beautiful area is looking as lovely as ever in any weather. Love getting the update and to see that you're doing well. Hope you've kicked your cold and have a wonderful rest of winter until blessed beautiful Spring comes - soon! Hugs and blessings always. xoxo
Whatever the season a walk-through your cozy home is inspiring. I like the way the English use the term 'homely' to describe a comfortable and welcoming space.
ReplyDeleteI can make all manner of items from fabric, I bring home twigs and rocks and bird's feathers from my walks, but I don't have your gift for arranging and displaying them. My daughter has a real flair for creating appealing vignettes, just as you do.
Decorative treasures are taking a hit here since the arrival of Thimble-kitten six months ago. Her nickname is 'the rummager!' She regularly empties the wastebasket by my sewing workspace, carrying scraps of fabric or batting throughout the house, shoves items off my desk, usually just as I'm about to fall asleep.
Creating a safe and welcoming space has always been important; I find it more so as the political situation becomes increasingly worrisome. Its not a matter of denying trouble, more about finding encouragement to see us through.
Loving all your quotes, yes we need to be more mindful of being nice to over come all the yucky!
ReplyDeleteI always put up my snowman collection after I take down Christmas and still have them up but I do think I need to go ahead and take them down and put up my Valentines after seeing all your sweet decorations!
Hi Karen! Your home is adorable and wonderful! Such beauty and inspiration... " These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. " John 16:33.
ReplyDeleteOh my dear God, your home filled with love and hearts looks place where God smiles with love ♥️🥰😍
ReplyDeleteSome souls are created to shed love ,kindness and joy in the world dear Karen and you certainly are one of them 🙏👍🥹
My heart refreshes every time I visit your heavenly blog♥️🥰
Sorry that you have been facing some issues ! Challenges come to make us stronger and rise higher dear friend ♥️
With the kindness of God you surely will come out of it.
I saw totally different and cruel side of the life after marriage, the only thing I had was my husband’s love and companionship by the Grace of God!
And my willpower to survive through it liberated me from the pain eventually and left great sense of achievement and deeper understanding of life.
Your quotes are inspirational and so agreeable ♥️ specially Emily Dickinson!
I truly believe what she said because love is in each single creation and reason behind its existence. We are given consciousness for reason and it’s only to be kind, supportive and love every soul as it reflects some colour of divine!
Your sweet home and everything looks utterly glorious and elegant, nurturing senses and making one fall in love with life and you once again ♥️👌👍
Thanks for uplifting sharing dear friend!
Sending lots and lots of Love, hugs and best wishes for you and loved ones ♥️♥️♥️
