Summer Days


Walks in the woods....


Puttering at the potting bench.....


Beachy decorating....


Strawberry shortcake.....

(with blueberry corn muffins)

 1 pkg. (8.5 oz) Jiffy corn muffin mix
1/2 cup sour cream (or a little more if dry)
1 egg
3/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries. 

Mix together lightly

Bake 20 minutes @ 375 degrees. 
Makes 6 muffins



And beautiful sunsets.

    I love all of those things too! Well, not so much the potting bench. I've never been a very good Greenthumb Gert, but I love flowers. When I saw the strawberry shortcake, I wanted to crawl through the screen and visit! Enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer season! Diane

    Summer days.... I love sitting out in the sun on a warm summers day and indulging in ice cream with my husband and son and a hot summers night :) Summer days are always so beautiful.

    Your veranda looks so inviting with all the beautiful bits and bobs. How refreshing that must be to walk around your neighbourhood surround with all those towering pine trees.
    Summer is way behind us now. Just looking forward to the beauty of spring. What I like about summer is the beach. Oh how I miss the beach.

    Five LOVELY summery things, Karen. I like being able to eat outside, and sitting in my summerhouse in the evenings, relaxing with a glass of wine, but we haven't been able to indulge ourselves much, yet. Hope you have had a lovely weekend. x

    Karen, that strawberry shortcake looks delicious. Haven't had that in awhile. Some of my favorite things during the summer is all the wonderful fruit that is in season, the festivals in our downtown, and just taking pictures of nature, as the birds and animals seem to come out more during the spring and summer.

    Love your bird cages with the flowers, the blueberries with the strawberry shortcake sounds good :) Seeing that view at the end of the day would be lovely, we live down in a valley so we don't always get nice sunsets. When it is cool enough I like being able to work out in the yard and with my garden and going on hikes!

    Beautiful. Isn't summer the best? I love walking outside, camping in the woods in my vintage trailer, walking the garden to view my flowers and talking to my chickens and my dog, Dash.
