Illuminations on a Golden Morning

The morning light streams through lace curtains, waking me from my slumber,

Creating beautiful patterns of light on the floor.

Sunlight dances through trees beyond the kitchen window as I wait for my morning brew.

Wind chimes give voice to the soft morning breeze.

Shadows dance and sway as I cup the steaming mug
and tiptoe barefoot to breathe in the early morning dampness.

Mount Rainier rises from the mist as I reflect upon my many lovely summers.

This time of year reminds me of my journey and how I have passed from spring to summer,
into the fall of my life.

Like mist, time has slowly drifted away, revealing a soul molded and tempered by many seasons.

Strengthened by storms,
illuminated by countless suns of hard earned wisdom,
nurtured by the gentle rains of love,
patiently waiting out the long nights of sorrow.

And like the mighty oak, standing strong.

Still reaching for the stars.

This golden season reminds me of the many blessings that have brought me this far.

The many peaks and valleys that have formed the landscape of my life.

The seeds of love nurtured into this beautiful season of harvest.

Wishing you beautiful reflections at this golden time of year.

xoxo

    1. Thank you, Gert Jan! This bird cage is simply decorative, my bird lives in a very large cage in his own room. A very spoiled bird! Thanks for visiting today! xo

  4. Dearest Karen,
Lucky you! We have been up all night, fighting again the water... We had such a tremendous rain and all bridges under water, half the yard. The neighborhood is looking like a big lake at certain streets. I feel for those people in their homes. The earth is so saturated that the water has no way to go... And the entire month we will have more and more thunderstorms with few dry days in-between that are not enough to let it dry out. It is stinky, smelly mud what we live in now....
Hugs and enjoy your sunlight; you are so blessed!

    1. Dear Mariette,
I am so sorry to hear this! I hope this terrible season of rain will finally end for you, soon. Here in Western Washington we are very familiar with flooding. With our steep hills and mountains, river valleys and lowlands flood on a regular basis every winter and spring. Roads wash out, houses float away and people lose their lives. I pray that you and Pieter stay safe and dry inside your beautiful home until the sun comes out once again. Thinking of you with much love. Hugs, xoxo
