Fields of Gold

The buttercups have been blooming,
 turning the fields to gold.

These beautiful scenes remind me of a favorite song......

'You remember me when the west wind moves

Upon the fields of barley

You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky

As we walk in fields of gold.

I've never made promises lightly

And there have been some that I've broken

But I swear in the days still left

we'll walk in fields of gold.

Many years have passed since those summer days

Among the fields of barley

See the children run as the sun goes down

Among the fields of gold.

You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky

As we walk in fields of gold.'

  2. Oh- The words and pictures are beautiful! Just absolutely gorgeous. We don't have any buttercups here yet. We have such a late spring. Did you always hold buttercups up to yoru girlfriends at school when you were little to see if they liked butter? I know we did.

I will say that you take some of the most gorgeous pictures and your setting is just breath-taking! xo Diana

  31. This post reminds me of the song Laura Ingalls Wilder used to sing with her family:
    Golden years are passing by,
    Happy, happy golden years,
Passing on the wings of time,
    These happy golden years.
Hold them fast as they go by,
    Sweet their memories are,
Oh improve them as they fly,
    These happy golden years.
