Hello my Dear Friends!
Here in the foothills of Washington State, we are enjoying the beautiful,
long summer days filled with sunshine, wildflowers, and golden fields
under our majestic Mt. Rainier.
Come along with me and we will take a country drive to celebrate
this wonderful, fleeting season, along with the lyrics
to one of my favorite songs, 'Fields of Gold', by Sting.
xoxo
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me? Will you be my love?
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so
upon the fields of barley
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
xoxo

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs from your part of the world.
Here in the UK, and Europe, we have been experiencing very hot temperatures.
I am hoping things will cool down soon ... we shall see.
Sending good wishes across the miles.

ReplyDeleteOh Karen, I was thinking the same thing, I was going to take a country drive today. Thanks for taking us along with you on your peaceful drive, and your photos along the way are so heartwarming and pretty. Although, I'm not familiar with the song. And look at Mount Rainier in the distance! All your pictures are very nice, but I wish you could somehow frame picture 9. It's important to just get away from the everyday things, and spend some time gazing at our Father's world. You are so special for knowing and appreciating all the beauty that is around you.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful views. You live in a beautiful part of the world, Karen, glad you invited us along. Hope you are enjoying these early summer days.

Crafts, photos I take, things I paint, trips, events, things that tend to just pop in my head, my life with the girls (two cats), my kids, grands, great grades and WHATEVER! Yep, I too am hoping this heat spell don't hang to long, but we have been lucky so far with some nice temps and low humidity up till now. Wow, those mt pics are amazing. We have mts here in TN also, but they don't look like that. And snow still? That is wild for sure. And that sky, beautiful.
